5 Tips on Choosing the Perfect Frames for Your Eyeglasses

It’s best to go with a colour that softens your look. Nothing that is too contrary to your hair colour or skin tone, e.g. Black frames generally work best on those with black hair.

The simplest and least obtrusive frames are rimless which are almost weightless and virtually invisible. The leading name in this field is who make some of the most elegant spectacles in the world. They are not suited to very strong prescriptions but offer a very sophisticated look.

A great alternative to either of these two spectacle styles are the minimalist frames from brands like Mykita; these offer both modern and retro shapes yet are made from incredibly light laser-cut steel.

Choose a frame shape which is contrary to your face shape. Anything too similar to your face shape will just accentuate it. Round frames on a round face for example will only serve to highlight just how round that face is.

Go to where there is a large choice! Don’t feel obligated to buy your spectacles from the optician who did your eye-test. Most opticians carry a pretty poor range of frames. Ask for a copy of your prescription and get out there
